Our next project we made videos in class. My group and I decided to do the physics of a layup. For the first three days we got our story board and script ready to go. We also figured who would bring the supplies needed for this video. Then the next day we filmed and uploaded it to the computer. Then while saving two of our group members removed the SD card. so the next day when we didn't have the Sd card we couldn't do anything. Instead of editing we did calculations and worked on some voiceovers, we also added in some texts to the video. The next day we found out that the original SD card got lost... so we had to re-do all the filming on a new SD card. Now we were frantic about time. We started coming in in lunches, but it was a waste of time because only one person got to do work since there was only one computer. But we got the editing done. The next we sent people to go to do voice overs and record the calculations. When we put it all together we saw that the voice overs were too long. But the video was due that day. So we showed the class our unfinished video and Mr.Williams gave us some feedback. Then we recorded the new edited voice overs on the computer and we had to do a little bit more editing, adjust some volumes and cip some clips. And the next day we got it done and uploaded to YouTube. Feel free to watch it down below.
Concepts and Calculations:
Footwork: Should be left-right and jump off of your right foot. Switches for your left-hand side.
Velocity: Is a vector quantity that refers to "the rate at which an object changes its position. In this video it was the speed I was running towards the hoop. Its equation is velocity=change in distance over the change in time
Horizontal Velocity: How high an object goes or flies. My air time when i jump of the ground. Independent from vertical velocity. Its equation is velocity=change in distance over the change in time.
Vertical Velocity: How far an object goes or flies. In our case when i run towards the hoop. Also independent from horizontal velocity. Its equation is also velocity=change in velocity over the change in time.
Force: Is a push or pull upon an object resulting from the object's interaction with another object. In our case the push of my legs. The eqaution for force is force=mass times acceleration.
Landing: After jumping it is important bend your legs. This prevents injury or stress on your legs and the force is minimized.
Reflection: I think that this project was lots of fun. And my group worked very well together. Not only that but the way we handled setbacks to was great. We had loads of problems that could have made us give up. But we stuck with it and just kept on cruising along. Things i could have done was be more of a team leader. I also could have been more cooperative towards my group and accept more ideas. Another thing is communicate more with my group, and encourage my group to communicate more with other members about the video. But over all I think i improved from the last project. And i hope to accel even more in future projects.
