What is it?
Cladogram-a branching diagram showing the cladistic relationship between a number of species
What we did
For this project we were given an explanation of a cladogram. Then our instructor gave us a set of hardware tools ranging from screws to washers. Our goal was to create a cladogram showing how each tool evolved from one an other and a backstory on why it evolved.
Key Terms
Speciation: the formation of new and distinct species in the course of evolution
Family: is a group of people affiliated either by consanguinity, affinity, or co-residence
Genus: a principal taxonomic category that ranks above species and below family, and is denoted by a capitalized Latin name
Species: largest group of organisms in which two individuals can produce fertile offspring, typically by sexual reproduction
Cladogram: a branching diagram showing the cladistic relationship between a number of species
Classification: the action or process of classifying something according to shared qualities or characteristics
Evolution: the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth
Adaptation: a change or the process of change by which an organism or species becomes better suited to its environment
Natural Selection: survival and reproduction of individuals due to differences in phenotype
Phenotype:the set of observable characteristics of an individual resulting from the interaction of its genotype with the environment
Genotype: the genetic constitution of an individual organism
Competition: the activity or condition of competing to survive in an environment

Our Presintation
Reflection
This project as a whole was kind of stressful. Due to a lot of factors. For example one out of the four of us doesn't really do a lot of work. He is a good but not that good of a worker. Also we had to re-do our physical cladogram a numerous amount of times because we didn't complete it correctly. Eventually we were able to complete it. When it came to presentation day we are all ready but someone had tampered with our presentation and it was very embarrassing. Overall this project was fun and I would do it again if it was a possibility.
